Dan Stanley, born in Milwaukee has been a photographer since 1980, when he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, working with a number of serious photographers, shooting Photojournalism for the Navy Times and freelancing with the Honolulu Advertiser. He was selected to represent the Navy, in its annual Photojournalism Program at Syracuse University in 1982, studying under noted photographers Aurthur Rothstein, Eddie Adams, and Douglas Kirkland.

After the Navy, he traveled the country shooting freelance from New York to Los Angeles, from the Pacific to the Caribbean, branching into Fashion, Commercial, Fine Art and Portraits.

Calendars, books and galleries are just a few of the outlets he is currently pursuing while aligning his photography business with an eye towards the artful, realistic, and needs and vision of his clients. His work has been seen in such publications as the Boston Globe, Honolulu Advertiser, Virginia Pilot-Ledger Star, Syracuse Post-Standard, Associated Press, UPI, Details Magazine and Greenpeace.
